We recently heard the first State of the Nation Address (SONA) of our new president of the Republic, Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III or PNoy and there are so many reactions and comments regarding his first SONA. There is a mixed reaction from different sectors of our society. Political and other concerned groups had said their reaction after hearing the SONA of PNoy last July 26, 2010 while former president Joseph Ejercito Estrada showed his support to the SONA.

Senator Jingoy Estrada suggested that the thieves in our country who stole from the people should be prosecuted. The rest of the members of big political parties has also said their opinions and reactions to the SONA as what former House SPeaker Prospero Nograles said the speech of President Aquino “Sparked a ray of hope” for the whole Philippines as he laid a broad map of what to expect from his governance and administration.

Other legislative members showed their full support as Salimbangon told SunStar (online news paper site) that PNoy has given his concern to everybody and that their duty is to cooperate with the plans of PNoy for the whole country.

Former Gabriela representative, Liza Maza and the other party-list representative Luzviminda Ilagan said that the speech of PNoy was lacking most especially the raising of the salary of the ordinary workers of the country, providing low-cost health services, education, and housing for the poor in the whole country.
